Trainer Certification

The Institute has three Mentor Trainers available to mentor PCT Trainer candidates. All candidates are approved by an Institute Mentor Trainer certified with ILCPCP. The Institute’s certification process aligns with Mentor Trainers throughout the US.

What does is take to become a Certified Person Centered Thinking Trainer?

You are required to complete an application(click to link) for review by an Institute Mentor.

Before you submit the application you need to:

  • Understand that not everyone who applies will be admitted to the certification program.

  • You are required to demonstrate experience supporting people with disabilities or other support needs using person centered thinking skills.

Will you be able to answer these questions?

  • Why do you want to pursue certification?

  • What will you do if you are certified?

  • Are you willing to commit to a process that will take several months?

  • Do you understand that not every candidate will be certified without demonstrated competency in the Trainer certification requirements?

  • Do you have the resources and support to complete the process?

Do you have the resources and support to complete the process?
If you are approved as a PCT Trainer Candidate, you are required to successfully show competence by completing the Four Stages of Certification. (click for link)
